What is I Ching?

The I Ching, also known as the Book of Changes, is an ancient Chinese divination text and one of the oldest books in the world. It is a collection of oracle readings that are used to give advice on personal growth, relationships, business ventures, and other important decisions. The philosophy behind the I Ching is that change is a constant in life, and that by understanding the laws of change, we can better navigate through our lives.

The I Ching is employed in cleromancy, a sort of divination that employs seemingly random numbers. Six numbers between 6 and 9 are combined to form a hexagram, which can then be searched up in the text, where hexagrams are ordered in the King Wen sequence. It uses a system of 64 hexagrams to represent all the possible combinations of change. Each hexagram is made up of six lines, which can be either solid or broken. The interpretation of each hexagram depends on the combination of lines it contains.

The I Ching is a complex and powerful tool that can be used for guidance in all aspects of life. If you are interested in learning more about it, there are many resources available online and in libraries. There are also many books written about the I Ching, which can provide a more in-depth understanding of its teachings. Best of luck in your journey!
